oVirt is an open source enterprise virtualization platform based on KVM. Ansible is an IT automation tool: it can configure systems, deploy software, and orchestrate more advanced IT tasks such as continuous deployments or zero downtime rolling updates. Ansible ships with a number of modules than can control system resources, like services, packages, or files (anything really), or handle executing system commands. Each module has to be idempotent: the main idea is that change commands should only be applied when they need to be applied, and that it is better to describe the desired state of a system than the process of how to get to that state. In this session we will focus on the oVirt Ansible module to see how we can define and manage the virtualization resources in a declarative way using Ansible playbooks.
